Sakimura said he was going mountain climbing and gave me one of his mountain climbing jellies that he had chilled in the refrigerator.
He said, “Can you guess what it tastes like? So I didn’t know.
He gave me a hint that it was a specialty of Okinawa, so I said “shikwasa” and he laughed at me.
But I knew it was brown sugar the second time. Isn’t that amazing?
It tasted kind of bland, but Sakimura-san said it tasted bland because it had protein and other nutritional ingredients in it.
